Through our primary program, Downtown Auxiliary Mobile Services (DAMS), Inner City Women’s Initiatives Society offers outreach, harm reduction, education, and support to women in the downtown eastside of Vancouver, BC. Our guiding principles come from our commitment and passion for the people we serve – they are unchangeable and drive the Society in everything it does.

We pride our organization for our:

Responsiveness to observed/expressed needs of the women we serve
Ability to provide transportation to our clients
Mobility to go out and reach our clients wherever they are
Care and compassion for women
Strong relationships with community partners
Leadership in harm reduction programs and services
Leadership in women-centered care

We provide outreach to women on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. The women we help suffer from trauma, drug addiction, and often mental health issues. Our approach is based on harm reduction, including distributing harm reduction supplies, and making connections with women to refer to other agencies for housing, medical care, and other supports.
